IIC

About the IIC

The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) is a 2018 initiative by the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell (MIC) and AICTE to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). IICs aim to create a, "round-the-year" ecosystem for, "ideation", "proof-of-concept development", and "start-ups support" through, "competitions" and, "networking".

Key Functions of IIC:

  • Encouraging Innovation: Conducting, "hackathons", "idea competitions", and "mini-challenges" for students.
  • Capacity Building: Organizing workshops on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), design thinking, and entrepreneurship.
  • Mentorship: Creating a mentor pool for student innovators by connecting with investors and professionals
  • Networking: Linking institutions with regional and national entrepreneurship development organizations.
  • Startup Support: Guiding students through, "pre-incubation" and, "incubation" stages to foster new startups.
